If you are presently majoring in another department and/or college, obtain a change of major/college form (signed by your advisor) and your academic records from your present department and take them to C-36 Padelford. A math advisor in Padelford will go over your record with you and help you make a plan of study for completing the math degree. In no case is a student permitted to declare a major in mathematics while on probation (i.e., GPA less than 2.0). If you plan to major in mathematics, you should declare this as soon as you meet the admission requirements. Routine advising, graduation petitions, etc., are handled by the professional advising staff in C-36 Padelford.
To declare any of the majors in mathematics, the following requirements must be completed:
Math 124, 125, 126
Any 300-level mathematics course
The BS options and BA options require a minimum of 2.0 in each required course, with the exception of the Teacher Preparation option. It requires a 2.5 in each required course and a GPA of 2.5 in all mathematics courses required for graduation. A GPA of 2.0 in all mathematics courses is required for graduation for all other options..
