Scores Distribution:

You can check your scores, and your estimated grade so far via the highlighted links below.

Please read this carefully first:

      *  If any of your scores is incorrect, bring that assignment to your TA & ask him to correct your score.

      * Blank scores correspond to either excused assignments, or to scores not yet entered in the sheet. Blanks are not included in the grade computation.

      *  The lowest non-blank homework, activity, and participation scores are automatically dropped from the grade computation, even though they are posted (all scores are posted).

      * At this point, your two midterm scores together are weighed as 78% of your total score (as much as all exams will be at the end of the term). At the end of the quarter, each midterm will only count for 21% only, with the final counting for the other 36%. This means that one weak midterm score is affecting your current estimated grade more than it will affect your final grade at the end of the term (assuming you do well on the final).

 SCORES and estimated grade so far (log in with your UWNetID):     Math 112 A (10:30) & Math 112 B(11:30)

To compute approximately what score you need in the final exam in order to achieve a certain grade in the class:

      1) Compute the % corresponding to your desired grade:
                 4.0 =at least 97%;  3.9= at least 94%, for grades between 1.5 and 3.8: %=10*(grade+5.5)%
                 (for example, 3.0=10(3.0+5.5)%=85%, 2.0=10(2.0+5.5)=75%)

      2) Now compute the score you need in the final exam (out of 100 pts) as approximately:

                       [(above desired %)-(current total score)*0.64]/0.36

        For instance, suppose you currently have a total score of 80% and wish to get a grade of 3.0:

                the % corresponding to 3.0 is  10(3.0+5.5)=85%
          you'd need about [85-80*0.64]/0.36=33.8/0.36=93.88 pts out of 100 on the final exam
