Compute the %
corresponding to your desired grade:
4.0 =at least 97%; 3.9= at
least 94%, for grades between 1.5
and 3.8: %=10*(grade+5.5)%
(for example, 3.0=10(3.0+5.5)%=85%,
2.0=10(2.0+5.5)=75%)
2) Now compute the score you need in the final exam (out of 100 pts) as approximately:
[(above desired %)-(current total score)*0.64]/0.36
For instance, suppose you currently have a total score of 80% and wish to get a grade of 3.0:
the % corresponding to 3.0 is
10(3.0+5.5)=85%
you'd need about
[85-80*0.64]/0.36=33.8/0.36=93.88
