Midterm 2 Prep:

* The second midterm will be given in your quiz section on Thursday, May 13 (50 minutes long)
* The test will be about 3-5 problems from Chapters 9-14, and about 4 pages long.
* Bring: photo ID, a calculator, one sheet of notes (double-sided OK)

* Here's a pdf file containing a list of main topics for review.
* First review all problems from homework and lectures. You need to know how to do ALL the assigned homework problems.
* Read the warning below, then use the Exams Archive for extra practice.
IMPORTANT: The Exam Archive does not line up with the order that the material is being presented this year, or with the topics for this midterm. Some chapters can only be found on older final exams.
If you need extra practice on a specific chapter or topic, use this old exam correspondence sheet (courtesy of prof. Loveless). You should only study old exam questions that correspond to Chapters 9-14. Skip over material that isn't from these chapters.

Reviews:  In-class Monday -Wednesday.
Extra Q&A (optional, bring questions!): Wednesday 3:40-5pm, in JHN 175.

FINAL EXAM  Information:

Please DO NOT ENTER THE ROOM until you're invited to do so by one of us (we need to set up first)

  • The final exam covers all the material learned in Math 120, with a little more weight given to the material covered since the 2nd midterm. It is about as long as two midterms (7-9 problems), and it counts for 35% of your grade

  • Bring: one handwritten 8.5"x11" sheet of notes (both sides are OK), and a calculator. No other electronics are allowed (for instance, music players)

  • Also: bring photo ID since you will be asked to show ID.

  • If a serious and unavoidable emergency occurs (such as sudden illness) causes you to miss the final, you need to contact your professor ASAP and must provide documentation.

Note that Hall Health provides one acute illness visit per quarter free for UW students, so even if you do not have medical insurance you can visit a doctor's office when ill.
