PRE-REQUISITE TOPICS, REVIEW AS NEEDED

ALGEBRA, Etc.

Some of the most common algebra mistakes made in calculus are described at http://www.math.hmc.edu/calculus/tutorials/algebrareview/
Please take a moment to understand these errors. They can cost you dearly on a calculus problem, even if you did study the new material!

Your textbook has a reference page at the front. Review Arithmetic Operations, Exponents and Radicals, Factoring Special Polynomials.
The rest of that page can come in handy at times too. We'll need area and volumes later in the quarter.

TRIGONOMETRY

See the flip side of the reference page at the front of your textbook (reference page 2). We'll make heavy use of:

MATH 124 Material

Derivatives:

L'Hospital's Rule (textbook section 4.4)

Special Functions

Other than the trig and inverse trig functions, you need to know the properties and special values of the exponential and logarithmic functions.
See reference page 4.
