Favorite Rich Tasks from the Summer NWMI workshop:  1) Exploring systems of equations from a very different perspective – using a puzzle to explore creating multiple systems with the same solutions set and 2) Finding Algebra in non-traditional geometric shapes – whatever the equation is … it must be in the picture!

Jim King:
Geometric Transformations and Complex Numbers:  We will explore how complex numbers provide a different handle to the plane transformations that are so prominent in the Common Core.  Then for fun, we will turn the plane inside out and take a stroll around infinity.
