Here are the answers to the final.

As I announced in class earlier this week, there is a take-home makeup for quiz 6. If you weren't in class today, please email me to get a copy of it. The due date for the makeup quiz is Monday before the final. You are not allowed to consult with anyone on the quiz.

Saturday afternoon, we will have another review session. The IC is closed, so let's meet in the math lounge (Padelford C-130). Here are some quick directions.

Calculators will be allowed on the final. Scientific calculators are OK; graphing calculators and cell phones are not. If you don't have a basic/scientific calculator, try to find someone who can loan you one, and if that fails, talk to me.

The review sessions for the final will be this Friday in the IC math room: 11:30–12:15 and 1:45–5:30(ish).

Our final exam period is officially two hours long (8:30-10:30), but we actually have a four-hour-long period since we meet daily. So on Monday, although I will write a 2-hour final, you'll have an extra two hours or so to finish the final.

Finally, the last day to turn in late homework is this Friday (3/9).

Here are a few harder examples of solving equations by completing the square.

This week we'll be finishing off Chapter 9, covering quadratic equations and parabolas Monday through Wednesday.

On Thursday and Friday, we will have review in class.

The second midterm will be in class this Thursday. To prepare for it, Wednesday's class will be review for the midterm.

As well, there will be a review session Wednesday afternoon, from 11:30-12:15 and 1:45 to 5:30 in the IC math room.

I removed 48 I from Monday's assignment, since we didn't have adequate time in class to cover that material. See the schedule for the revised assignment.

Here are the answers for the first midterm. I'll get the midterms graded and back to you as soon as I can.

This Friday we won't have a quiz, but there will be homework due Friday.

As a reminder (or for those of you who weren't in class Monday) we'll have review sessions today 11:30–12:30 and 2:30–3:30 after class, in the IC math room.

Because we've missed three days of class, the first midterm will now be next Wednesday, February 1.

Before the midterm, we'll have a review in class, and also a review session outside of class, either Monday or Tuesday afternoon.
