Final Exam Review Questions (Dr Loveless) Solns 1 to 5(b)
Solns 5(c) to 7
This was NOT a final exam. It is a large compilation of
old homework and exam questions from which to study. In problem 1 ignore the term CONVERSE. Skip Problem 6.
CORRECTIONS:
I) 4(c)(i) should replace "is not a surjection" by "is a surjection" (so that my solution matches up).
II) 6(a) The answer for the first sum should be x=7 and y=-9 which gives (7-9)^11=(-2)^11. (My solution does a different problem with x=7 and y=-8).
The answer for the second sum is correct in my solution (but when I copied the problem down I didn't list the (-1) in the sum, but the final answer is right for the problem from the sheet).
Winter 2011 (Dr. Loveless) Solutions Ignore quetions about CONVERSE in problem 1. Skip problem 5.
Fall 2008 (Dr. Loveless) Solutions Ignore question 5 a)
Fall 2007 (Dr. Loveless) Solutions Ignore question 3 and 5
