Text: Salas-Hille, Calculus (9th ed)

Some additional material will be made available as pdf file.

Course Description:  We will cover Chapters 10 through 13 and Chapter 18 of Salas and Hille. There will be some additional material on Taylor expansions (Chapter 11) and second-order differential equations (Chapter 18). This is a continuation from Math 134, and corresponds roughly to Math 126 and 307 in the regular sequence.

Grades:  Your grade will be determined from your scores on the Homework (25%), Quizzes (10 %), the Midterm (25%) and the Final exam (40%).

Homework will be assigned daily, click here for the problems. Due to limited resources, only a small number of  homework problems will be graded each week. Note that not all of the assigned problems are to be turned in. Homework is generally due on Fridays in class. No late homework will be accepted. The lowest weekly homework score will be dropped.

Quizzes: There will be a short Quiz on most Tuesdays. The main purpose of the Quiz is to give you feedback about your progress in class. The lowest quiz score will be dropped.

Exams:  You may use one sheet (two-sided) of handwritten notes. Calculators will not be allowed during the exams. The midterm is on Wednesday, February 1st, in class. The final is on Monday, March 13,  8:30-10:20.

Course Webpage:  I will maintain a webpage  (http://www.math.washington.edu/~rohde/135/135.html) containing this information and links to course material.
