Zometools

Zometools are the Legos of professional mathematicians. We use them to construct rugged three dimensional models of tetrahedra, cubes, dodecahedra, and many more complicated objects. It can be challenging to build a specific object because the Zometool pieces only come in a few lengths and have fixed angles. We will display some nice models and demonstrate some techniques. Then, you will have the chance to build lots of 3-d structures with Zometools either from 2-d pictures or from a written description. After warming up on a few practice models, we will begin the "Zometool Competition".
