An introduction to Encryption

The ability to send information encrypted is essential in the modern world from sending email to making purchases online. In this talk we will cover a brief history of encryption, from Caeser to modern-day techniques for encrypting credit card transactions. We will also see some of the mathematical concepts involved in encryption and decryption in history. We will learn about substitution cyphers, which were an essential part of the Enigma Machines used by the German Military in WWII. We conclude with a introduction to RSA, a popular modern encryption technique.
