Tímea Tihanyi

 

Tímea Tihanyi is a sculptor and mixed media artist. She graduated with an MFA in ceramics from the University of Washington in 2003 and currently is an active studio artist and a lecturer in the School of Art at the University of Washington. Tímea holds a BFA in ceramics from the Massachusetts College of Art and a medical degree from her native Hungary.

She was the winner of the prestigious Kottler-Noritake Award in 2002 and was awarded a PONCHO artist-in-residence scholarship at the Pratt Fine Arts Center, Seattle in 2003. Her work has been shown at the Henry Art Gallery and Soil Gallery in Seattle, UC Art Gallery in Montana, Woman Made Gallery, Chicago, and in Shepparton, Australia.
