Daniela Witten

 

Daniela Witten is an assistant professor of Biostatistics and adjunct assistant professor of Statistics at University of Washington. She completed a Bachelor's degree in Math and Biology in 2005, and a PhD in Statistics in 2010, both from Stanford. She joined the UW faculty in 2010. Her research involves developing statistical machine learning techniques that can be used to make sense of high-dimensional data sets coming out of biology and other fields. Outside of statistics, her hobbies include biking and hiking during the summer, skiing during the winter, and world travel whenever possible.
