UW Mathematics Superseminar
Fall 2012
Padelford C-36 on Mondays at 2:30 PM.
The Superseminar is an elementary seminar series on the mathematics of Supersymmetry. We are following V. S. Varadarajan's
book, Supersymmetry for Mathematicians. The
seminar is led by Professors Robin Graham and Paul Smith. Should you have any questions, please contact me at
smckeown at math dot washington. The following is a partial
schedule, which will be updated as the seminar progresses:
- October 22: Organizational meeting; Paul Smith spoke on super linear algebra.
- October 29: Robin Graham will talk about super Lie algebras and will construct the super Poincaré
algebra. Section 3.2. Exercises
- November 5: Professor Graham will continue with a talk on conformal spacetime. Section 3.3.
- November 19: Robin Graham will talk on Section 3.4, constructing the superconformal algebra.
- November 26: Paul Smith will define supermanifolds, following Chapter 4.
- December 3: Paul Smith will give some examples of supermanifolds.
