Course Information
- Lecture : MWF 11:30-12:20, LOW 101
- Topics to be covered : We will cover most of Chapters 1-4
in Apostol's "Mathematical Analysis," Second Edition. The sections
dealing with complex numbers will be omitted.
- Prerequisites : at least 2.0 in MATH 328 or 335.
Students are expected to have had some exposure to rigorous
mathematics and proofs. Students should also be familiar with
functions of several variables.
- Homeworks (20% of overall grade) Weekly homework will be
assigned due on Wednesdays in class. No late homeworks will be
accepted. The TA will typically grade only 2-3 problems from each
homework assignment.
- Exams (80% of overall grade):
- Test I (20% of overall grade) : Friday, October 27, in class.
- Test II (20% of overall grade) : Wednesday, November 15 - Wednesday,
November 22, take-home exam.
- Final Exam (40% of overall grade): 2:30-4:20 p.m. Wednesday,
December 13, in usual classroom
