This course is the continuation of Math 524 and Math 525. This quarter, I expect to cover the following subjects:

1. $L^p$ spaces: [F] Ch 6.

2. Radon Measures: [F] Ch 7.

3. Elements of Fourier Analysis: [F] Ch 8.


IMPORTANT DATES:

  • Midterm: We need to find a 4 hour slot that works for everybody. I propose Friday May 11, 2:30-6:30.
  • Final Exam, Math 526: 48 hour take home exam, to be turned in no later than 12:30 on Friday June 1st, 2007.


  • GRADING POLICY: The grades will be determined on the basis of the following percentages: Homework 40%. Prelim format midterm 30%. Final exam 30%. There will be weekly homework due on Wednesdays at the beginning of class.
