Brown Bag Teaching/Learning Seminar #1
A Second Order Collaboration

In the course of attending a seminar on Science Education, I have become aware that we are far from being alone in our efforts to introduce collaborative learning tactics in our classes. It seemed to me that if wheels are being independently invented all over campus, we should at least compare their radii and gearing (not to mention their eccentricity!) So for our next Brown Bag, Dean McManus from Oceanography, Pinky Nelson from Astronomy, and Janice DeCosmo from Meterology, who have carried out sundry types of collaborative-learning style classes at sundry levels and with sundry degrees of satisfaction with the result will join us. They will tell us their tales and expect a few of ours, after which there should be plenty of meat for discussion!

Join the collaboration on Thursday, April 27 at noon in the Math Lounge.
