Brown Bag Teaching/Learning Seminar #6
Deborah Hatch on Teaching Portfolios

One of the current hot topics in the Ed. Biz.is Teaching Portfolios. Currently within the department they are a recommended part of a faculty member's teaching file (and we have impressed some other departments with that fact.) The place where they are becoming steadily less optional, though, is at the hiring end. MANY colleges and universities now require them of all applicants. That means we all need to know something about them--the graduate students in order to produce such an object, and the faculty members in order to help set things up so they can do so.

For our next Teaching/Learning Brown Bag, Deborah Hatch of CIDR will lead a discussion on Teaching Portfolios. She will start by definig and describing them, then help us discuss what we might be doing about them. Come and join the conversation!

We will meet at noon on Thursday, January 11 in the Math Lounge.
