Brown Bag Teaching/Learning Seminar #2
Harvey Keynes
Cashing in once again on the speaker importation successes of the calculus education seminar, we will have as our Brown Bag guest this week Harvey Keynes of the University of Minnesota. Harvey has been very active in a bunch of aspects of education (he was one of the originators of MER-- Mathematicians and Education Reform), so the conversation could legitimately wind up almost anywhere. It's good to start with a focus, though, so he will launch the discussion with a few words on current directions for teacher preparation- including new MA programs.
