Homework:
There will be weekly homework assignments
throughout the quarter.
The most important function of the homework is to help you to
internalize
concepts, develop problem solving skills and the ability
to write mathematically rigorous proofs.
Homework problems will be
collected at the beginning of the Friday's class.
A selective of the homework problems will be graded by a
TA. Homework will count for 30\% of the
final grade of this course.
No late homework will be accepted. However
the homework set with lowest score will be dropped in
calculating the final grade.
Please write legibly and staple
your homework and
clearly mark it with your name.
Examinations:
During the quarter, there will be
one take-home midterm exam and one comprehensice final exam.
No makeup exams will be given .
For documented illness or real emergency, it will be treated
on a case by case basis.
Malfunctioning alarm clocks
and missed buses are not such emergencies.
So please plan ahead.
