The Simons Laufer Mathematical Sciences Institute (SLMath) in partnership with the National Association of Mathematicians (NAM) and Zala Films presents Journeys of Black Mathematicians: Forging Resilience (2024, 58 min), by director George Csicsery. Forging Resilience is the first of two documentary films produced by Zala Films as part of the Journeys of Black Mathematicians project started in collaboration with SLMath (formerly MSRI) in 2020. The second film in this series is anticipated for 2025 release.
Please join us for a free public screening of the film courtesy of SLMath and UW's Departments of Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, and Statistics. The director will be in attendance with a Q&A and reception to follow.
