Introduction to Smooth Manifolds, 2nd ed., by John (Jack) M. Lee. (First edition will not work, because there are substantial changes, additions, and reorganizations in the second edition.) Note that the text is available as an e-book from the Math Library, but you must be logged in with your UWNetID to see it (with no charge).
I will assume you have entered all important corrections in your copy of the text. Please report any additional errors you suspect to me or directly to Professor Lee.
Winter quarter we will study Chapters 1 through 10 or 11. In Spring, we will continue on through Chapter 14, except we probably will skip almost all of 13 (whose content is covered more extensively in Math 547). Then we will study Chapter Chapters 19-21, and end with Chapters 15-17.
